Meaning¶
इस श्लोक में देवी दुर्गा की महिमा का वर्णन है। देवी ने अपनी हुंकार से धूम्रलोचन का नाश किया, शोणितबीज का रक्त सुखा दिया, और शुम्भ-निशुम्भ के युद्ध से भूत-पिशाचों को तृप्त किया। देवी को महिषासुरमर्दिनी, रम्यकपर्दिनी और शैलसुते के रूप में जयकारा किया गया है।
हे महिषासुर का मर्दन करने वाली देवी, आपकी केवल हुंकार से ही धूम्रलोचन नामक राक्षस सैकड़ों धूम्रलोचनों में बदल कर राख हो गया। युद्ध में शोणितबीज के रक्त से उत्पन्न होने वाले शोणितबीज नामक राक्षसों की लताओं को आपने सुखा दिया। हे शिवे, हे शुभे, शुम्भ और निशुम्भ के महान युद्ध से भूत और पिशाच भी तृप्त हो गए। हे रमणीय जटाओं वाली पर्वतपुत्री, आपकी जय हो, जय हो!
