धराधरसुता तटे लसद्विलासचेलके दृगञ्चलस्फुरत्करालपलभासुरे दृशाम् ।

दिगन्तरालभूतले प्रवर्तिताण्डवे क्षपाकरोरुचिसभाजनं तनोतु मे शिवः ॥

ಧರಾಧರಸುತಾ ತಟೇ ಲಸದ್ವಿಲಾಸಚೆಲಕೇ ದೃಗಂಚಲಸ್ಫುರತ್ಕರಾಲಪಲಭಾಸುರೇ ದೃಶಾಂ ।

ದಿಗಂತರಾಲಭೂತಲೇ ಪ್ರವರ್ತಿತಾಂಡವೇ ಕ್ಷಪಾಕರೋರುಚಿಸಭಾಜನಂ ತನೋತು ಮೇ ಶಿವಃ ॥

Meaning

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನು ಪಾರ್ವತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಇರುವವನೂ, ಭಯಾನಕ ಸರ್ಪವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವನೂ, ತಾಂಡವ ನೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನೂ, ಚಂದ್ರನಂತೆ ಬೆಳಗುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಶಿವನು ನಮಗೆ ಶುಭವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಲಿ.

ಯಾರು ಪರ್ವತ ರಾಜನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಪಾರ್ವತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ವಿಲಾಸದಿಂದ ಆಡುತ್ತಿರುವರೋ, ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಕಾಂತಿಯಿಂದ ಭಯಾನಕವಾದ ಹಾವಿನ ಹೊಳಪು ಹೊಂದಿರುವರೋ, ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನರ್ತನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸುವರೋ, ಚಂದ್ರನ ಕಿರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವರೋ, ಅಂತಹ ಶಿವನು ನನಗೆ ಸೌಖ್ಯವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಲಿ.

ಶಿವ ತಾಂಡವ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರದ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ, ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ನೃತ್ಯದ ವೈಭವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಶಿವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಗಳವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಲು ಪಠಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

This verse describes Shiva as one who joyfully resides with Parvati, possesses a terrifying serpent, performs the Tandava dance, and shines like the moon. May such Shiva bring auspiciousness to us.

May Shiva, who playfully dwells on the shore with the daughter of the mountain, Parvati; whose eyes reflect the splendor of the terrifying serpent; who initiates the Tandava dance in the space between the directions; and whose beauty rivals the light of the moon, bestow auspiciousness upon me.

This verse of the Shiva Tandava Stotram highlights Shiva’s beauty, power, and the magnificence of his dance. It is recited to invoke Shiva’s grace and to wish for auspiciousness.
