Meaning¶
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ರುದ್ರ ಸ್ವರೂಪವನ್ನು ಯಕ್ಷನಂತೆ, ಜಟಾಧಾರಿಯಾಗಿ, ತ್ರಿಶೂಲವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ವಿಷ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾದಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವನಾಗಿ, ದಕ್ಷನ ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿದವನಾಗಿ, ರುಂಡಮಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿರುವವನಾಗಿ ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತಹ ರುದ್ರನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಗಳು.
ಯಕ್ಷ ಸ್ವರೂಪವುಳ್ಳವನೂ, ಜಡೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿರುವವನೂ, ತ್ರಿಶೂಲಧಾರಿಯೂ, ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಮಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನೇ ಮೊದಲಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವನೂ, ದಕ್ಷನ ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿದವನೂ, ರುಂಡಮಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿರುವವನೂ ಆದ ನಿನ್ನ ರುದ್ರ ಸ್ವರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ಉಗ್ರರೂಪವನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತನ ಶಕ್ತಿ, ವೈರಾಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸರ್ವನಾಶಕನ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಶಿವನ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಆತನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
This shloka describes the Rudra form of Shiva, who appears as a Yaksha, has matted hair, holds the trident, is worshipped by Vishnu and Brahma, destroyed Daksha’s sacrifice, and is adorned with a garland of skulls. Salutations to that Rudra.
