ललाटचत्वरज्वलद्धनञ्जयस्फुलिङ्गभा- निपीतदीपित्तकधराधिपेः सहस्रलोचनः ।

अशेषलेखशेखरप्रसूनधूलिधोरणी विधूसराङ्घ्रिपीठभूषणा मम स्मृतिम् ॥

ಲಲಾಟಚತ್ವರಜ್ವಲದ್ಧನಂಜಯಸ್ಫುಲಿಂಗಭಾ- ನಿಪೀತದೀಪ್ತಿತಕಧರಾಧಿಪೇಃ ಸಹಸ್ರಲೋಚನಃ ।

ಅಶೇಷಲೇಖಶೇಖರಪ್ರಸೂನಧೂಲಿಧೋರಣೀ ವಿಧೂಸರಾಂಘ್ರಿಪೀಠಭೂಷಣಾ ಮಮ ಸ್ಮೃತಿಮ್ ॥

Meaning

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಿವನ ಹಣೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಇಂದ್ರನ ಮಸ್ತಕದ ಕಪ್ಪನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜರುಗಳ ಕಿರೀಟದ ಧೂಳಿನಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಶಿವನು ನಮ್ಮ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಯಾವ ಶಿವನ ಹಣೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಕಿಡಿಗಳ ಕಾವು ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಇಂದ್ರನ ಮಸ್ತಕದ ಮೇಲಿನ ದೀಪದ ಕಪ್ಪನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಿತೋ, ಯಾವ ಶಿವನ ಪಾದ ಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳ ರಾಜರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಿರೀಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೂವುಗಳಿಂದ ಉದುರಿದ ಧೂಳಿನಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೋ, ಅಂತಹ ಶಿವನು ನನ್ನ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ಇರಲಿ.

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಚ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಭಾವವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಿವನು ಇಂದ್ರನಂತಹ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಶಾಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜರುಗಳು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತಲೆಬಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಅಂಶವನ್ನು ಇದು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಶಿವನ ಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

This verse praises Shiva’s power, stating that the fire on his forehead consumes Indra’s diadem’s lampblack, and his feet are adorned with the dust from the crowns of all rulers. It prays for Shiva to reside in one’s memory.

May Shiva, whose forehead’s blazing fire sparks consumed the lampblack of the diadem of Indra, the lord of gods; and whose footstool is adorned with the dust from the flowers on the crowns of all the rulers of all directions, reside in my memory.

This shloka signifies Shiva’s supreme power and influence. It highlights that Shiva is more powerful than even deities like Indra, and all rulers bow down to him. It is a testament to devotion to Shiva.
