निलिम्पनिर्झरीधरस्तनोतु कृत्तिसिन्धुरः कलानिधानबन्धुरः श्रियं जगद्धुरंधरः ॥

ನವೀನಮೇಘಮಂಡಲೀ ನಿರುದ್ಧದುರ್ಧರಸ್ಫುರತ್- ಕುಹೂನಿಶೀಥಿನೀತಮಃ ಪ್ರಬನ್ಧಬನ್ಧುಕನ್ಧರೇ ।

ನಿಲಿಂಪನಿರ್ಝರೀಧರಸ್ತನೋತು ಕೃತ್ತಿಸಿಂಧುರಃ ಕಲಾನಿಧಾನಬನ್ಧುರಃ ಶ್ರಿಯಂ ಜಗದ್ಧುರಂಧರಃ ॥

Meaning¶

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವನ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ರೂಪ ಮತ್ತು ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಪಠಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಶಿವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನಂಬಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹೊಸ ಮೇಘಗಳ ಗುಂಪಿನಿಂದ ತಡೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ, ಭರಿಸಲಾಗದ ಮಿಂಚುಗಳ ಹೊಳಪನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ, ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯ ಕತ್ತಲ ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸುವ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಂತೆ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ, ದೇವನ ಗಂಗಾ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿರುವ, ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನು ವಸ್ತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಉಳ್ಳ, ಚಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಮುಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಧರಿಸಿರುವ, ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಶಿವನು ನನಗೆ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಿ.

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ವೈಭವವನ್ನು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಿವನು ಮೋಡಗಳಿಂದ ಆವೃತನಾಗಿ, ಮಿಂಚಿನಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನು ಗಂಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಚಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಮುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ನೀಡಲಿ.

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ವರ್ಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಿವನು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿದ ಮೋಡಗಳಿಂದ ಆವೃತನಾಗಿ, ಮಿಂಚುಗಳಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಯು ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯ ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಂತೆ ಗಾಢವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವನು ಗಂಗೆಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಚಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಶಿವನು ನನಗೆ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ತಡೆಹಿಡಿದ. ಆವರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ, ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ		Obstructed. Blocked, hindered, or covered.
दुर्धर	ದುರ್ಧರ		durdhara
ತಡೆಯಲಾಗದ. ಸಹಿಸಲು ಕಷ್ಟವಾದ, ತಡೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದ.		Unbearable. Difficult or impossible to endure; unstoppable.

ಚಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧರಿಸಿರುವ, ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಶಿವನು ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಲಿ.

Who has the moon on his head, who carries the burden of the world, may he bestow prosperity.
