प्लवन्निलापमध्यगा सुरारिदर्पदर्दनं मुदा मुहुर्विबोधयन्नमस्तु मे शिवः ॥

ಚಲಾಕಲಾಪಶಾಲಿನೀ ತಿಲೋಚನೇ ಲಲಾಟಪಟ್ಟ- ರಜ್ಯಮಾನಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರಸ್ಫುರತ್ಸುಭಾಸುರಚ್ಛವಿಃ ।

ಪ್ಲವನ್ನಿಲಾಪಮಧ್ಯಗಾ ಸುರಾರಿದರ್ಪದರ್ದನಂ ಮುದಾ ಮುಹುರ್ವಿಬೋಧಯನ್ನಮಸ್ತು ಮೇ ಶಿವಃ ॥

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಚಲಿಸುವ ಜಡೆಯಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕೃತನಾದ, ಮೂರು ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳ, ಹಣೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ, ಹೊಳೆಯುವ ಕಾಂತಿಯುಳ್ಳ, ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಲುತ್ತಿರುವ, ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಗರ್ವವನ್ನು ಮುರಿಯುವ ಮತ್ತು ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುವ ಶಿವನಿಗೆ ನಮಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಯಾವ ಶಿವನು ಚಲಿಸುವ ಕಲಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ಶೋಭಿಸುವವನೋ, ಮೂರು ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವನೋ, ಹಣೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ರಂಜಿಸುವ ಚಂದ್ರನಿಂದ ಬೆಳಗುವವನೋ, ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾದ ಕಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವನೋ, ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ತೂಗಾಡುವ ನೀಲಾಕಾಶದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವವನೋ, ದೇವತೆಗಳ ವೈರಿಗಳ ದರ್ಪವನ್ನು ಮುರಿಯುವವನೋ, ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಜಾಗೃತಗೊಳಿಸುವವನೋ, ಅಂತಹ ಶಿವನಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ನಮನಗಳು.

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಶಿವನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ, ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಕನಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇದು ಶಿವನಿಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿದೆ.

This shloka pays homage to Shiva, who is adorned with moving locks of hair, has three eyes, wears the moon on his forehead, possesses a radiant glow, floats in the sky, destroys the pride of the enemies of the gods, and awakens us with joy.
