धराधरसुता तटे लसद्विलासचेलके दृगञ्चलस्फुरत्करालपलभासुरे दृशाम् ।

दिगन्तरालभूतले प्रवर्तिताण्डवे क्षपाकरोरुचिसभाजनं तनोतु मे शिवः ॥

Meaning / Summary

यह श्लोक भगवान शिव की महिमा का बखान करता है और उनकी आराधना करने का महत्व बताता है। यह दर्शाता है कि भगवान शिव अपने भक्तों को भय से मुक्ति और समृद्धि प्रदान करते हैं।

जो शिव पार्वती के किनारे क्रीड़ा करते हुए सुंदर वस्त्र पहने हुए हैं, जिनकी आँखों की चमक भयानक राक्षसों को भी प्रकाशित करती है, जिन्होंने दिशाओं के बीच भूतल पर तांडव नृत्य किया, वे चंद्रमा के समान कांति से मेरी शोभा बढ़ाएं।

इस श्लोक में भगवान शिव के सौंदर्य, शक्ति और कृपा का वर्णन है। उनसे प्रार्थना की गई है कि वे अपनी कृपा से भक्त को चंद्रमा के समान यश प्रदान करें।

भगवान शिव, जो हिमालय की पुत्री पार्वती के साथ नदी के किनारे सुंदर वस्त्रों में विहार करते हैं, जिनकी आँखों की तेजस्विता भयंकर राक्षसों को भी प्रकाशित करती है (अर्थात् दुष्टों को भी मार्गदर्शन देती है), और जिन्होंने पृथ्वी पर सभी दिशाओं में अपने तांडव नृत्य का प्रदर्शन किया है, वे अपनी चंद्रमा के समान शीतल और उज्ज्वल कृपा से मेरी कांति और यश में वृद्धि करें।

This verse extols the glory of Lord Shiva and highlights the importance of worshipping Him. It shows that Lord Shiva grants freedom from fear and prosperity to His devotees.

May Lord Shiva, who playfully resides with Parvati on the riverbank adorned in beautiful attire, whose eyes illuminate even the terrifying demons, and who performs the Tandava dance on the surface of the earth between the directions, bestow upon me the glory of the moon.

This verse describes the beauty, power, and grace of Lord Shiva. It is a prayer to grant the devotee glory like the moon through His grace.

May Lord Shiva, who sports with the daughter of the mountains (Parvati) on the shore, elegantly dressed and whose sidelong glances illuminate the terrifying faces of even demons, who initiated the Tandava dance on the surface of the earth in all directions, grant me the splendor of the moon.
