अयं निजः परो वेति
गणना लघुचेतसाम्।
उदारचरितानां तु
वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्॥
Ayam nijaḥ paro veti gaṇanā laghu-chetasām।
Udāra-charitānāṃ tu vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam॥
Meaning¶
यह श्लोक उदारता और विश्व-बंधुत्व का संदेश देता है। यह बताता है कि सच्चे ज्ञानियों के लिए पूरी पृथ्वी एक परिवार है।
यह श्लोक भारतीय संस्कृति की महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षाओं में से एक है, जो सभी मनुष्यों के बीच समानता और प्रेम का भाव रखने का संदेश देता है।
जो लोग ‘यह मेरा है, यह दूसरों का है’ ऐसा भेद करते हैं, वे छोटे मन वाले होते हैं। उदार हृदय वाले लोगों के लिए तो पूरी पृथ्वी ही एक परिवार है।
