Meaning / Summary

यह श्लोक भगवान की महानता और असीमता को दर्शाता है। यह हमें यह याद दिलाता है कि भगवान के गुण हमारी समझ से परे हैं और हमें हमेशा उनके प्रति श्रद्धा रखनी चाहिए।

हे ईश्वर, यदि समुद्र को स्याही की दवात बना दिया जाए, काले पर्वत को स्याही बना दिया जाए, कल्पवृक्ष की शाखा को कलम बना दिया जाए और पृथ्वी को कागज बना दिया जाए, और यदि स्वयं माँ शारदा (सरस्वती) भी हमेशा लिखती रहें, तो भी आपके गुणों का अंत नहीं पाया जा सकता।

यह श्लोक भगवान के गुणों की अनंतता का वर्णन करता है। यह बताता है कि उनके गुणों का वर्णन करना असंभव है, भले ही सबसे बड़ी सामग्री और सबसे कुशल लेखक का उपयोग किया जाए।

इस श्लोक में भगवान की महिमा का वर्णन किया गया है। इसमें कहा गया है कि यदि पूरे समुद्र को स्याही के पात्र के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाए, काले पर्वत को स्याही के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाए, कल्पवृक्ष की शाखा को कलम के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाए और पूरी पृथ्वी को कागज के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाए, और यदि देवी सरस्वती स्वयं अनवरत रूप से लिखती रहें, तो भी भगवान के गुणों का वर्णन करना असंभव है। उनके गुण अनंत और असीम हैं, जिनका कोई अंत नहीं है।

O Lord, if the ocean were the inkpot, the black mountain were the ink, the branch of the celestial wish-fulfilling tree were the pen, and the Earth were the paper, and if Goddess Sharada (Saraswati) herself were to write forever, even then the end of Your virtues cannot be reached.

This shloka describes the infinity of the Lord’s qualities. It states that it is impossible to describe His virtues, even with the greatest resources and the most skilled writer.
