இந்த ஸ்லோகம் சிவபெருமானின் வழிபாட்டில் வில்வ இலைக்கு வழங்கப்படும் மகத்தான சக்தியையும் புனிதத்தையும் வலியுறுத்துகிறது. மூன்று இதழ்களைக் கொண்ட வில்வ இலை தெய்வீகக் கோட்பாடுகளின் ஒரு மைக்ரோகாஸ்மிக் வடிவமாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. இது இந்து திரித்துவத்தை (பிரம்மா, விஷ்ணு, சிவன்), படைப்பு, நிலைநிறுத்தல் மற்றும் அழிவை ஆளும் மூன்று குணங்களை (சத்வம், ரஜஸ், தமஸ்), மற்றும் சிவன் தனது மூன்று கண்களால் கடந்த காலம், நிகழ்காலம், எதிர்காலம் அல்லது சூரியன், சந்திரன் மற்றும் நெருப்பை பிரதிபலிப்பதையும் குறிக்கிறது. பக்தியுடன் ஒரு வில்வ இலையை சமர்ப்பிக்கும் செயல், எண்ணற்ற பிறவிகளில் சேர்ந்த பாவங்களிலிருந்து பக்தரை தூய்மைப்படுத்தும் என்று நம்பப்படுகிறது. ஒரு எளிய காணிக்கை மூலம் கூட உண்மையான பக்தி ஆழமான ஆன்மீக நன்மைகளையும் விடுதலையையும் தரும் என்பதை இது வலியுறுத்துகிறது.

மூன்று இதழ்களைக் கொண்டதும், மும்மூர்த்திகளின் குணங்களைக் காட்டுவதும், சிவபெருமானின் முக்கண்களைப் போன்றதும், மூன்று ஆயுதங்களை ஏந்தியதும், மூன்று பிறவிகளின் பாவங்களை அழிப்பதுமான ஒரு வில்வ இலையை சிவபெருமானுக்கு சமர்ப்பிக்கிறேன்.

மூன்று குணங்கள், சிவனின் முக்கண்கள் மற்றும் அவரது மூன்று ஆயுதங்களை உள்ளடக்கியதாக வில்வ இலை இந்த ஸ்லோகத்தில் விவரிக்கப்படுகிறது. ஒரு வில்வ இலையை சிவபெருமானுக்கு அர்ப்பிப்பதன் மூலம் மூன்று பிறவிகளின் பாவங்கள் அழிக்கப்படும் என்று இந்த ஸ்லோகம் கூறுகிறது.
