हा श्लोक बिल्वपत्राचे गहन आध्यात्मिक सामर्थ्य आणि प्रतीकात्मक महत्त्व अधोरेखित करतो. बिल्वपत्राचा प्रत्येक पैलू, त्याच्या तीन पानांपासून ते त्याच्या औषधी गुणधर्मांपर्यंत, भगवान शिवाशी संबंधित आहे. केवळ एक बिल्वपत्र भक्तीने अर्पण केल्याने भक्ताचे अनेक जन्मांतील पाप धुऊन जातात आणि त्याला अपार आध्यात्मिक लाभ मिळतात, हे दर्शविते की खरी भक्ती ही दिखाऊ विधींपेक्षा प्रामाणिकपणावर अधिक अवलंबून असते.

तीन पानांचे बिल्वपत्र, जे तीन गुणांचे (सत्त्व, रज, तम) स्वरूप आहे, तीन डोळ्यांच्या (शिवाच्या) आणि तीन आयुधांच्या/शक्तींच्या स्वरूपात आहे, ते तीन जन्मांतील पापांचा नाश करते. असे एक बिल्वपत्र भगवान शिवाला अर्पण केले जाते.

Offering even a single Bilva leaf with devotion is believed to cleanse a devotee of sins accumulated over multiple lifetimes and grant immense spiritual benefits, highlighting that true devotion is more about sincerity than elaborate rituals.

The three-leafed Bilva, representing the three Gunas (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas), symbolizing the three eyes (of Shiva) and His three powers (or weapons), eradicates the sins of three lifetimes. Such a single Bilva leaf is offered to Lord Shiva.
