तव विमलं नलरुक्लमलं वदनं धरणिं परिपूरयति

तव च यि कान्तिरलकमणि छवि किरणमनुवति तपति

तव वरवर्णे तनोति शुचिस्मितं दलरुचिं लसदुधरपल्लवते

जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते ॥

यह श्लोक महिषासुरमर्दिनी दुर्गा की सुंदरता और शक्ति का वर्णन करता है। उनके चेहरे की कान्ति, बालों के रत्नों की चमक और मुस्कान की पवित्रता का वर्णन किया गया है।

हे महिषासुरमर्दिनी, रमणीय जटाजूट वाली शैलपुत्री! आपका निर्मल और खिले हुए कमल के समान मुख धरती को प्रकाशित करता है। आपकी अलकों (बालों) में जड़े हुए रत्नों की कान्ति सूर्य की किरणों का अनुकरण करते हुए चमकती है। हे उत्तम वर्ण वाली देवी, आपका पवित्र मुस्कान खिले हुए अधर पल्लवों की शोभा को बढ़ाता है। आपकी जय हो, जय हो!
