এই শ্লোকটি দেবী দুর্গার বিভিন্ন মহিমা এবং শক্তির পরিচয় দেয়। এটি দেবীর প্রকৃতির বহুমুখিতা তুলে ধরে-তিনি একদিকে যেমন বিন্ধ্যবাসিনী ও শিবপত্নী, তেমনই অন্যদিকে তিনি পৃথিবীর কল্যাণকারিণী ও অসুরবিনাশিনী। দেবীর এই স্তুতি তাঁর প্রতি ভক্তদের ভক্তি, কৃতজ্ঞতা এবং জয়ধ্বনি প্রকাশ করে। এটি দেবীর বিশ্বজনীন রূপ এবং তাঁর শক্তি ও ঐশ্বর্যের এক সুন্দর বর্ণনা।

এই শ্লোকে দেবী দুর্গাকে গিরিরাজ হিমালয়ের কন্যা, পৃথিবীর আনন্দদায়িনী, বিশ্বের মনোরঞ্জনকারিণী, এবং নন্দ, ইন্দ্র সহ অন্যান্য দেবগণ দ্বারা পূজিতা রূপে বর্ণনা করা হয়েছে। তিনি বিন্ধ্য পর্বতের শিখরে বাস করেন, বিষ্ণুর লীলাসঙ্গিনী এবং শিবের পত্নী। দেবীর বহু রূপ ও বাহু রয়েছে এবং তিনি সকল ঐশ্বর্যের উৎস। শ্লোকটি মহিষাসুরকে বধকারিণী, রমণীয় জটাজুটধারিণী পর্বতকন্যা দুর্গার জয়গান করে।

নীলকণ্ঠ (শিব)-এর গৃহিণী/পত্নী শিতি (নীল) কণ্ঠ (গলা) - শিতিকণ্ঠ বলতে শিবকে বোঝানো হয়, যিনি সমুদ্রমন্থনের বিষ পান করে নীলকণ্ঠ হয়েছিলেন। কুটুম্বিনী মানে গৃহিণী বা পত্নী। অর্থাৎ, শিবের পত্নী দেবী পার্বতী বা দুর্গা।			Consort of Shiva (the blue-throated one) Śiti (blue) Kaṇṭha (throat) - Śitikaṇṭha refers to Lord Shiva, who became blue-throated after drinking the poison from the ocean churning. Kuṭumbinī means wife or consort. Thus, it refers to Goddess Parvati or Durga as the consort of Shiva.

The beautiful matted hair or locks of Goddess Durga symbolize her beauty and divinity.
शैलसुते		শৈলসুতে		Śailasute
গিরিকন্যা শৈল (পর্বত) এবং সুতা (কন্যা)। ‘গিরিনন্দিনী’ শব্দের অনুরূপ অর্থ, অর্থাৎ পর্বতরাজ হিমালয়ের কন্যা।			O Daughter of the mountain! Śaila (mountain) and Sutā (daughter). Similar in meaning to ‘Girinandinī’, referring to the daughter of the mountain king, Himalaya.
