एवं परम्पराप्राप्तमिमं राजर्षयो विदुः ।

स कालेनेह महता योगो नष्टः परन्तप ॥

ఏవం పరంపరాప్రాప్తమిమం రాజర్షయో విదుః ।

స కాలేనేహ మహతా యోగో నష్టః పరంతప ॥

Meaning / Summary

ఈ శ్లోకం గురు పరంపర యొక్క ప్రాముఖ్యతను, జ్ఞానం యొక్క నిరంతరాయతను తెలియజేస్తుంది. కాలక్రమంలో జ్ఞానం యొక్క విలువ తగ్గిపోకుండా, దానిని కాపాడుకోవలసిన అవసరాన్ని నొక్కి చెబుతుంది.

ఈ జ్ఞానాన్ని రాజర్షులు గురు పరంపర ద్వారా పొందారు. ఓ పరంతపా, కాలక్రమేణా ఆ యోగం నశించింది.

ఈ శ్లోకంలో, శ్రీకృష్ణుడు అర్జునుడికి పూర్వం రాజర్షులు గురు పరంపర ద్వారా పొందిన యోగ జ్ఞానం గురించి, కాలక్రమంలో అది ఎలా నశించిపోయిందో తెలియజేస్తున్నాడు.

శ్రీకృష్ణుడు అర్జునుడితో ఇలా అంటున్నాడు, “అర్జునా, ఈ యోగ జ్ఞానాన్ని పూర్వం రాజర్షులు అంటే రాజులుగా ఉండి కూడా ఋషుల వంటి జీవితాన్ని గడిపిన వారు గురు పరంపర ద్వారా పొందారు. గురువు నుండి శిష్యునికి, వారి నుండి వారి శిష్యునికి ఇలా తరతరాలుగా అందుతూ వచ్చింది. కాని, ఓ పరంతపా (శత్రువులను తపించేవాడా), కాలక్రమంలో ఈ యోగం యొక్క గొప్పతనం తగ్గిపోయింది, దాని ఆచరణ నశించింది. ప్రజలు దీనిని మరచిపోయారు.”

This shloka highlights the importance of disciplic succession and the continuity of knowledge. It emphasizes the need to preserve the value of knowledge and prevent its decline over time.

This knowledge was received by the saintly kings through disciplic succession. But, O Arjuna, with the long passage of time, this yoga was lost to the world.

In this verse, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna about the yoga knowledge received by the saintly kings through disciplic succession and how it was lost over time.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna, “Arjuna, this yoga, this knowledge, was passed down through a lineage of saintly kings (Rajashris), those who were kings but lived the life of sages. It was transmitted from guru to disciple, and from them to their disciples, generation after generation. However, O Parantapa (scorcher of enemies), with the long course of time, this yoga’s glory diminished and its practice was lost. People forgot about it.”

ఈ విధంగా, పరంపరానుగతంగా పొందిన ఈ జ్ఞానాన్ని రాజర్షులు తెలుసుకున్నారు.

Thus, this knowledge was received in disciplic succession and known by the saintly kings.
