क्षेत्रज्ञं चापि मां विद्धि सर्वक्षेत्रेषु भारत ।

क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम ॥

க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞம் சாபி மாம் வித்தி ஸர்வக்ஷேத்ரேஷு பாரத ।

க்ஷேத்ரக்ஷேத்ரஜ்ஞயோா் ஞானம் யத்தஜ்ஞானம் மதம் மம ॥

Meaning / Summary

இந்த ஸ்லோகம், உடலையும் (க்ஷேத்ரம்) அதை உணரும் ஆன்மாவையும் (க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞன்) பற்றிய அறிவின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்துகிறது. இந்த இரண்டையும் பற்றிய தெளிவான புரிதலே உண்மையான ஞானம் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது.

பாரதா, எல்லா உடல்களிலும் இருக்கும் க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞனாகிய என்னையும் அறிவாயாக. க்ஷேத்ரம் மற்றும் க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞன் பற்றிய அறிவுதான் உண்மையான ஞானம் என்பது என் கருத்து.

அர்ஜுனா, ஒவ்வொரு உடலிலும் உள்ள க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞன் நானே. க்ஷேத்ரம் மற்றும் க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞன் பற்றிய அறிவுதான் உண்மையான ஞானம்.

அர்ஜுனா, ஒவ்வொரு உடலிலும் (க்ஷேத்ரம்) இருக்கும் க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞன் (உடலை அறிந்தவன்) நானே என்பதை நீ அறிவாய். உடலைப் பற்றியும், உடலை அறிந்தவனைப் பற்றியும் உள்ள அறிவே மெய்யான ஞானம் என்று நான் கருதுகிறேன். க்ஷேத்ரம் என்பது உடல், க்ஷேத்ரக்ஞன் என்பது அந்த உடலை உணரும் ஆன்மா. இந்த இரண்டையும் பற்றிய தெளிவான அறிவு இருந்தால், அதுவே ஞானம்.

This shloka emphasizes the importance of understanding the body (Kshetra) and the soul that is aware of it (Kshetrajna). Clear understanding of both is said to be true knowledge.

O Bharata, know Me to be the Knower of the field in all fields. The knowledge of the field and its Knower, in My opinion, is true knowledge.

Arjuna, I am the Knower of the field in all fields. Knowledge of the field and its Knower is true knowledge.

Arjuna, understand that I am the Knower of the field (Kshetrajna) present in every body (Kshetra). The knowledge about the body and the one who knows the body is what I consider as true knowledge. Kshetra is the body, and Kshetrajna is the soul that is aware of the body. Having clear knowledge of both is true wisdom.
