अर्जुन उवाच।

एवं सततयुक्ता ये भक्तास्त्वां पर्युपासते ।

ये चाप्यक्षरमव्यक्तं तेषां के योगवित्तमाः ॥

ஏவம் ஸததயுக்தா யே பக்தாஸ் த்வாம் பர்யுபாஸதே ।

யே சாப்யக்ஷரமவ்யக்தம் தேஷாம் கே யோகவித்தமா:

arjuna uvāca evaṁ satata-yuktā ye bhaktās tvāṁ paryupāsate ye cāpy akṣaram avyaktaṁ teṣāṁ ke yoga-vittamāḥ

Meaning / Summary

இந்த ஸ்லோகம், எந்த வகையான பக்தி சிறந்தது என்ற முக்கியமான கேள்வியை எழுப்புகிறது. இது உருவ வழிபாடு மற்றும் உருவமற்ற வழிபாட்டின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை ஆராய்கிறது.

அர்ஜுனன் கூறுகிறான்: எப்போதும் உன்னுடன் ஒன்றிணைந்து உன்னை பக்தியுடன் வழிபடுபவர்கள், மற்றும் அழியாத, புலப்படாத பிரம்மத்தை வழிபடுபவர்கள் ஆகிய இவர்களில் யார் சிறந்த யோகிகள்?

அர்ஜுனன், உருவமுள்ள இறைவனை வழிபடுபவர்களா அல்லது உருவமற்ற இறைவனை வழிபடுபவர்களா, யார் சிறந்த யோகிகள் என்று கிருஷ்ணரிடம் கேட்கிறார்.

அர்ஜுனன் கேட்கிறார்: பகவானே, உன்னுடைய பக்தர்களாக இருந்து எப்போதும் உன்னையே நினைத்து, உன்னையே சரணடைந்து உன்னை வழிபடுபவர்கள் ஒருவகை. மற்றவர்கள், அழியாததும், கண்களுக்குப் புலப்படாததுமான நிர்குண பிரம்மத்தை (அதாவது உருவமற்ற இறைவனை) வழிபடுகிறார்கள். இந்த இருவகையான பக்தர்களில், சிறந்த யோகியாக கருதப்பட வேண்டியவர் யார்?

This verse initiates a crucial inquiry into the nature of devotion and the paths to spiritual realization. It explores the relative merits of worshipping a personal God versus an impersonal Absolute.

Arjuna said: Those devotees who, ever steadfast, worship You, and those who worship the imperishable, the unmanifested – which of these are better versed in yoga?

Arjuna asks Krishna which is the superior path: worshipping the personal form of God or worshipping the impersonal, unmanifest Brahman.

Arjuna inquires: O Lord, which are considered to be more perfect in yoga – those who, being constantly engaged, worship You with devotion, or those who worship the imperishable, unmanifest Brahman (the formless aspect of God)?
