अश्रद्दधानाः पुरुषा धर्मस्यास्य परन्तप ।

अप्राप्य मां निवर्तन्ते मृत्युसंसारवर्त्मनि ॥

அஷ்ரத்ததாநா: புருஷா தர்மஸ்யாஸ்ய பரந்தப ।

அப்ராப்ய மாம் நிவர்தந்தே மிருத்யுசம்ஸாரவர்த்மனி ॥

aśraddadhānāḥ puruṣā dharmasyāsya parantapa ।

aprāpya māṁ nivartante mṛtyusaṁsāravartmani ॥

Meaning / Summary¶

இந்த ஸ்லோகம், நம்பிக்கையின் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும், இறைவனை அடையாதவர்களின் நிலையையும் விளக்குகிறது.

அறம் மற்றும் என்னை நம்பாத மனிதர்கள், ஓ பரந்தபா, என்னை அடையாமல், மரணத்தின் சுழற்சியில் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் பிறக்கிறார்கள்.

நம்பிக்கை இல்லாதவர்கள் என்னை அடையாமல் பிறப்பு இறப்பு சுழற்சியில் உழல்கிறார்கள்.

இந்த தர்மத்தின் மீது நம்பிக்கை இல்லாதவர்களும், என்னை சரணடையாதவர்களும், மரணத்தை உள்ளடக்கிய இந்த உலக வாழ்க்கையிலிருந்து என்னை அடையாமல் திரும்பி வந்து மீண்டும் மீண்டும் பிறக்கிறார்கள். அர்ஜுனா, மனதை வென்றவனே, இந்த தர்மத்தின் மீது நம்பிக்கை இல்லாதவர்கள் என்னை அடைவதில்லை, மாறாக மரணத்தின் சுழற்சியில் சிக்கித் தவிக்கிறார்கள்.

This shloka highlights the importance of faith and the fate of those who fail to attain the Divine.

Those who are faithless in this Dharma, O Parantapa, not attaining Me, return to the path of mortal samsara.

The faithless, failing to reach Me, are trapped in the cycle of birth and death.

Those who do not have faith in this Dharma and do not surrender to Me, return to this mortal world life without attaining Me and are born again and again. Arjuna, conqueror of the mind, those who do not have faith in this Dharma do not attain Me, but are caught in the cycle of death.

நம்பிக்கை இல்லாத மனிதர்கள், ஓ பரந்தபா, இந்த தர்மத்தின் மீது…

Those men who are without faith, O Parantapa, in this Dharma…

Meaning of Words¶

अश्रद्दधानाः	அஷ்ரத்ததாநா:		aśraddadhānāḥ
நம்பிக்கை இல்லாத, விசுவாசம் இல்லாத		Without faith Lacking faith; faithless; unbelieving.
पुरुषा	புருஷா		puruṣā
மனிதர்கள் ஆண்கள், நபர்கள்		Men Humans, persons, individuals.
धर्मस्य	தர்மஸ்ய		dharmasya
தர்மத்தின் ஒழுக்கம், நீதி, கடமை		Of Dharma Relating to Dharma, righteousness, duty, religion.
अस्य	அஸ்ய		asya
இந்த		This Referring to the one being discussed.
परन्तप	பரந்தப		parantapa
பரந்தப எதிரிகளைத் தண்டிப்பவனே (அர்ஜுனன்)		O Parantapa O scorcher of foes, an epithet for Arjuna, the one who torments or punishes the enemies.

Meaning¶

என்னை அடையாமல், மரணத்தின் சுழற்சியில் திரும்புகிறார்கள்.

Not attaining Me, they return to the path of mortal samsara.

Meaning of Words¶

अप्राप्य	அப்ராப்ய		aprāpya
அடையாமல் பெறாமல், வந்தடையாமல்		Not attaining Without obtaining, not reaching, failing to achieve.
मां	மாம்		māṁ
என்னை விஷ்ணு, கிருஷ்ணன்		Me Refers to the speaker, in this context, Lord Krishna.
निवर्तन्ते	நிவர்தந்தே		nivartante
திரும்புகிறார்கள் மீண்டும் வருகிறார்கள்		Return Go back, revert, come again.
मृत्युसंसारवर्त्मनि	மிருத்யுசம்ஸாரவர்த்மனி		mṛtyusaṁsāravartmani
மரணத்தின் சுழற்சியில் இறப்பு மற்றும் மறுபிறவியின் பாதை		Path of mortal samsara The cycle of birth and death, the path of worldly existence characterized by mortality.
