श्रीभगवानुवाच ।

परं भूयः प्रवक्ष्यामि ज्ञानानां ज्ञानमुत्तमम् ।

यज्ज्ञात्वा मुनयः सर्वे परां सिद्धिमितो गताः ॥

paraṁ bhūyaḥ pravakṣhyāmi jñānānāṁ jñānam uttamam

yaj jñātvā munayaḥ sarve parāṁ siddhim ito gatāḥ

Meaning / Summary

या श्लोकात भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ज्ञानाचे महत्त्व सांगतात आणि हे ज्ञान प्राप्त करून मुक्ती कशी मिळवावी हे स्पष्ट करतात.

भगवान श्रीकृष्ण म्हणाले: मी तुला पुन्हा एकदा सर्व ज्ञानांमध्ये उत्तम ज्ञान सांगेन, जे जाणुन सर्व मुनी या संसारातून परम सिद्धीला प्राप्त झाले.

भगवान श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुनाला ज्ञानातील उत्तम ज्ञान पुन्हा सांगणार आहेत, ज्याद्वारे मुनींनी परम सिद्धी प्राप्त केली.

अर्जुन, या अध्यायात मी तुला ज्ञानातील श्रेष्ठ ज्ञान पुन्हा सांगणार आहे. हे ज्ञान प्राप्त करून अनेक मुनी (चिंतनशील, तपस्वी) या जगात असतानाच परम सिद्धी, म्हणजे मोक्ष, प्राप्त करून गेले आहेत.

This verse emphasizes the importance of knowledge and how it leads to liberation, as exemplified by the sages.

The Blessed Lord said: I shall further declare to you that supreme knowledge, the best of all knowledge, knowing which all the sages have gone to perfection from this world.

Lord Krishna is about to reveal the supreme knowledge to Arjuna, by which sages attained ultimate perfection.

Lord Krishna says: Arjuna, I will again reveal to you the highest wisdom, the most excellent of all knowledge. By mastering this knowledge, all the sages have attained supreme perfection (liberation) after transcending this material world.

Meaning of Words

श्री		śhrī
श्री माननीय, आदरणीय. येथे भगवंताच्या नावाचा भाग म्हणून वापरले आहे.		The venerable, the glorious. It is a title of respect, used as part of the Lord’s name here.
भगवान्		bhagavān
भगवान् भगवान, परमेश्वर, श्रीकृष्ण.		The Blessed Lord. Refers to Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
उवाच	uvācha	उवाच	Said.

मी पुन्हा एकदा ज्ञानांमध्ये श्रेष्ठ ज्ञान सांगेन.

I shall further declare to you that supreme knowledge, the best of all knowledge.

Meaning of Words

परं		param
परं उत्कृष्ट, श्रेष्ठ, परम.		Supreme, transcendental. Highest, ultimate, beyond the material world.
भूयः		bhūyaḥ
भूयः पुन्हा, आणखी.		Again, further. Once more, additionally.
प्रवक्ष्यामि		pravakṣhyāmi
प्रवक्ष्यामि सांगेन, स्पष्टपणे सांगेन.		I shall declare, I shall explain. I will speak, I will tell clearly.
ज्ञानानां		jñānānāṁ
ज्ञानानां ज्ञानांमध्ये, सर्व प्रकारच्या ज्ञानांमध्ये.		Of all knowledge. Amongst all kinds of knowledge.
ज्ञानम्		jñānam
ज्ञानम् ज्ञान, बोध.		Knowledge. Wisdom, understanding.
उत्तमम्		uttamam
उत्तमम् उत्कृष्ट, सर्वोत्तम, सर्वश्रेष्ठ.		The best, the supreme. Excellent, highest, most superior.

Meaning

जे जाणुन सर्व मुनी या संसारातून परम सिद्धीला प्राप्त झाले.

Knowing which all the sages have gone to perfection from this world.

ज्ञात्वा जाणून, समजून घेऊन.		Knowing. Having known, understanding.

सर्वे		sarve
सर्वे		All. Every one, entire.
पराम्		parāṁ
पराम् परम, सर्वोच्च.		Supreme, transcendental.
सिद्धिम्		siddhim
सिद्धिम् सिद्धी, पूर्णता.		Perfection, success. Accomplishment, attainment.
इतः		itaḥ
इतः इथून, या जगात.		From this, from here. From this world, from here.
गताः		gatāḥ
गताः गेले, प्राप्त झाले.		Gone, attained. Have gone, have achieved.
