न मे विदुः सुरगणाः प्रभवं न महर्षयः ।

अहमादिर्हि देवानां महर्षीणां च सर्वशः ॥

aham ādir hi devānāṁ maharṣīṇāṁ ca sarvaśaḥ॥

Meaning / Summary

या श्लोकाद्वारे भगवान श्रीकृष्ण स्वतःच्या सर्वोच्च अस्तित्वाचा आणि सर्वव्यापी स्वरूपाचा परिचय देतात. ते अर्जुनला हे स्पष्ट करतात की त्यांची उत्पत्ती सामान्य नाही, तर ते देवांचे आणि ऋषींचेही मूळ आहेत.

माझ्या उत्पत्तीविषयी (प्रभवाविषयी) देवांनाही माहिती नाही, तसेच मोठ्या ऋषींनाही नाही. कारण मीच देवांचा आणि मोठ्या ऋषींचाही आदि (कारण) आहे.

भगवान श्रीकृष्ण म्हणतात की देव आणि महर्षी सुद्धा माझ्या उत्पत्तीबद्दल अनभिज्ञ आहेत, कारण मीच त्या सर्वांचा आदि आहे.

या श्लोकात भगवान श्रीकृष्ण आपली महती अर्जुनला सांगतात. ते म्हणतात की, देव आणि महर्षी सुद्धा माझ्या उत्पत्तीच्या कारणाबद्दल अनभिज्ञ आहेत, कारण मीच त्यांचे मूळ कारण आहे. म्हणजेच, देव आणि महर्षी ज्या शक्तीपासून उत्पन्न झाले, ती शक्ती म्हणजे मी स्वतः आहे. त्यामुळे, त्यांना माझ्या उत्पत्तीचे ज्ञान असणे शक्य नाही. कारण कार्य हे कारणापेक्षा लहान असते आणि कारणानेच कार्याला जन्म दिलेला असतो. त्यामुळे, स्वतःच्या कारणाबद्दल माहिती असणे कार्यासाठी शक्य नसते.

Through this verse, Lord Krishna introduces his supreme existence and omnipresent form. He clarifies to Arjuna that His origin is not ordinary, but that He is the origin of gods and sages as well.

Neither the hosts of gods nor the great sages know My origin, for I am the source of all the gods and great sages in every way.

Lord Krishna says that neither gods nor great sages know His origin because He is the source of them all.

In this verse, Lord Krishna reveals his divine glory to Arjuna. He states that even the gods and great sages are unaware of the cause of His origin, because He Himself is the origin of them all. This means that He is the power from which the gods and the great sages originated. Therefore, it is impossible for them to know the origin of Him, as the effect is always smaller than the cause, and the cause gives rise to the effect. It is not possible for an effect to know about its cause.

कारण मीच देवांचा आणि महर्षींचा आदि (उत्पत्तिस्थान) आहे.
