मनुष्याणां सहस्रेषु कश्चिद्यतति सिद्धये ।

यततामपि सिद्धानां कश्चिन्मां वेत्ति तत्त्वतः ॥

yatatām api siddhānāṁ kaścin māṁ vetti tattvataḥ ॥

Meaning / Summary

हा श्लोक आध्यात्मिक ज्ञानाच्या दुर्लभेतेवर आणि ते प्राप्त करण्यासाठी आवश्यक असलेल्या कठोर प्रयत्नांवर प्रकाश टाकतो. भगवंताला जाणणे हे अत्यंत कठीण आहे, हे यातून स्पष्ट होते.

हजारो मनुष्यांमध्ये एखादाच सिद्धी प्राप्त करण्यासाठी प्रयत्न करतो, आणि प्रयत्न करणाऱ्या सिद्ध पुरुषांमध्येही क्वचितच एखादा मला खऱ्या स्वरूपात जाणतो.

हजारो लोकांमध्ये एखादाच सिद्धीसाठी प्रयत्न करतो, आणि सिद्ध झालेल्यांमध्ये एखादाच मला खऱ्या स्वरूपात जाणतो.

या श्लोकात भगवान श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुनाला सांगतात की, अनेक लोकांमध्ये फार थोडेच लोक आध्यात्मिक उन्नतीसाठी प्रयत्न करतात. आणि जे प्रयत्न करतात, त्या सिद्ध झालेल्या लोकांमध्येही एखादाच मला तत्त्वतः जाणतो. भगवंत हे ज्ञान दुर्लभ आहे, कारण ते प्राप्त करण्यासाठी तीव्र इच्छा, प्रयत्न आणि भगवंताची कृपा आवश्यक आहे.

This verse highlights the rarity of spiritual knowledge and the rigorous effort required to attain it. It emphasizes the difficulty in truly knowing the Supreme Being.

Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for perfection, and even among those who have attained perfection, scarcely one knows Me in truth.

Out of thousands of men, one strives for perfection, and out of those perfected, one knows me in truth.

In this verse, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that out of many people, very few strive for spiritual perfection. And even among those who strive and attain perfection, scarcely one knows Him in truth. This knowledge of the Supreme Being is rare because it requires intense desire, effort, and the grace of the Lord.

हजारो मनुष्यांमध्ये एखादाच सिद्धी प्राप्त करण्यासाठी प्रयत्न करतो.

Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for perfection.

मनुष्याणां		manuṣyāṇāṁ
मनुष्यांमध्ये माणसांच्या समूहांमध्ये, अनेक लोकांमध्ये.		Among men Among human beings; in the multitude of people.

हजारात सहस्रावधी लोकांमध्ये.		Thousands In thousands; out of many thousands of people.
कश्चित्		kaścid
एखादाच फारच थोडा, क्वचितच.		Scarcely one Rarely one; hardly one; only a few.
यतति		yatati
खूप प्रयत्न करतो, झटतो.		Strives Endeavors; makes an effort; tries hard.
सिद्धये		siddhaye
सिद्धीसाठी परिपूर्णतेसाठी, मोक्षासाठी.		For perfection For attainment of perfection; for liberation; for spiritual accomplishment.

प्रयत्न करणाऱ्या सिद्ध पुरुषांमध्येही क्वचितच एखादा मला खऱ्या स्वरूपात जाणतो.
