तदेकं वद निश्चित्य येन श्रेयोऽहमाप्नुयाम् ॥

Meaning / Summary¶
हा श्लोक भगवतगीतेतील अर्जुनाच्या मानसिक स्थितीचे आणि कृष्णाकडून मार्गदर्शन मिळवण्याच्या इच्छेचे महत्व दर्शवतो.
आपण मिसळलेल्या (संदिग्ध) शब्दांनी माझ्या बुद्धीला मोहित करत आहात. म्हणून निश्चितपणे सांगा की ज्यामुळे मला कल्याण प्राप्त होईल.
अर्जुन कृष्णाला त्याच्या संभ्रमाबद्दल विचारतो आणि निश्चितपणे मार्गदर्शन करण्यास सांगतो जेणेकरून त्याला अंतिम कल्याण प्राप्त होईल.
अर्जुन कृष्णाला म्हणतो की, ‘हे कृष्णा, तुम्ही अनेक प्रकारची (कर्मयोग, ज्ञानयोग) विधाने करून माझ्या बुद्धीला गोंधळात टाकत आहात. मला नक्की सांगा की ज्यामुळे माझे कल्याण होईल, मला अंतिम ध्येय प्राप्त होईल.’ अर्जुनाला संभ्रम निर्माण झाला आहे की त्याने कर्मयोग करावा की ज्ञानयोग, कारण कृष्ण दोन्ही मार्गांचे महत्त्व सांगत आहे.
This verse highlights Arjuna’s mental state in the Bhagavad Gita and his desire for guidance from Krishna.
By seemingly conflicting words, you are bewildering my intellect. Therefore, tell me decisively that one thing by which I may attain the highest good.
Arjuna asks Krishna about his confusion and requests clear guidance so that he may attain ultimate well-being.
Arjuna expresses his confusion to Krishna, stating that Krishna’s teachings, which encompass various paths like Karma Yoga and Jnana Yoga, are causing his intellect to become bewildered. He pleads with Krishna to reveal a definitive path that will lead him to his ultimate well-being and the attainment of his highest goal. Arjuna is experiencing confusion regarding whether he should follow the path of Karma Yoga or Jnana Yoga, as Krishna has been emphasizing the importance of both.
