इदं ज्ञानमुपाश्रित्य मम साधर्म्यमागताः ।

सर्गेऽपि नोपजायन्ते प्रलये न व्यथन्ति च ॥

ഇദം ജ്ഞാനമുപാശ്രിത്യ മമ സാധർമ്യമാഗതാഃ।

സർഗ്ഗേഽപി നോപജായന്തേ പ്രളയേ ന വ്യഥന്തി ച ॥

idaṁ jñānam upāśritya mama sādharmyam āgatāḥ

sarge ’pi nopajāyante pralaye na vyathanti cha

Meaning / Summary

ഈ ശ്ലോകം ആത്മജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം എടുത്തുപറയുന്നു. ആത്മജ്ഞാനം നേടിയാൽ മോക്ഷം ലഭിക്കുമെന്നും, ജനന മരണ ചക്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് മോചനം നേടാമെന്നും ഈ ശ്ലോകം വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു.

ഈ അറിവിനെ ആശ്രയിച്ച് എന്‍റെ സ്വഭാവത്തെ പ്രാപിച്ചവർ, സൃഷ്ടിയിലോ പ്രളയത്തിലോ ജനിക്കുകയോ ദുഃഖിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല.

ഈ അറിവിനെ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർ എന്റെ സ്വഭാവത്തെ പ്രാപിക്കുകയും, അവർക്ക് പുനർജന്മം ഇല്ലാതാവുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

ആത്മജ്ഞാനം നേടിയവർ, അതായത്, ഈശ്വരീയമായ അറിവിനെ ശരിയായി ഗ്രഹിച്ച് അതിലൂടെ എന്നെത്തന്നെ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയവർ, എന്റെ അതേ സ്വഭാവം അഥവാ അവസ്ഥയെ പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു. അവർ പിന്നീട് ജനനമരണ ചക്രത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. സൃഷ്ടിയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ അവർ വീണ്ടും ജനിക്കുന്നില്ല, പ്രളയത്തിൽ അവർ ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നില്ല, കാരണം അവർ എന്നിൽ ലയിച്ച് ശാശ്വതമായ ആനന്ദം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു.

This shloka highlights the importance of self-knowledge. It clarifies that attaining self-knowledge leads to liberation (moksha) and freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

Those who, taking refuge in this knowledge, attain likeness to My nature, are neither born at the time of creation nor distressed at the time of dissolution.

Those who take refuge in this knowledge attain My nature and are freed from rebirth.

Those who have attained self-knowledge, meaning those who have correctly understood the divine knowledge and through it have understood Me, attain the same nature or state as Mine. They are not subject to the cycle of birth and death. They are neither born again at the time of creation, nor are they distressed during dissolution, because they merge into Me and experience eternal bliss.
