क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम ॥

ക്ഷേത്രജ്ഞം ചാപി മാം വിദ്ധി സർവ്വക്ഷേത്രേഷു ഭാരത ।
ക്ഷേത്രക്ഷേത്രജ്ഞയോർജ്ഞാനം യത്തജ്ഞാനം മതം മമ ॥

Meaning / Summary¶
ഈ ശ്ലോകം ആത്മാവിനെയും ശരീരത്തെയും വേർതിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം എടുത്തുപറയുന്നു. ഇത് ആത്മജ്ഞാനത്തിലേക്കുള്ള ഒരു മാർഗ്ഗമാണ്.
ഹേ ഭാരത, എല്ലാ ശരീരങ്ങളിലും ക്ഷേത്രജ്ഞനായി എന്നെത്തന്നെ അറിയുക. ക്ഷേത്രത്തെയും ക്ഷേത്രജ്ഞനെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ അറിവാണ് എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തിൽ യഥാർത്ഥ ജ്ഞാനം.
ഈ ശ്ലോകത്തിൽ, എല്ലാ ശരീരങ്ങളിലും കുടികൊള്ളുന്ന ആത്മാവ് താനാണെന്നും ശരീരത്തെയും ആത്മാവിനെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള അറിവാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ ജ്ഞാനമെന്നും ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ അർജ്ജുനനോട് പറയുന്നു.
ഹേ അർജ്ജുനാ, എല്ലാ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലും (ശരീരങ്ങളിലും) ക്ഷേത്രജ്ഞനായി (അതിനെ അറിയുന്നവൻ, ആത്മാവ്) എന്നെത്തന്നെ മനസ്സിലാക്കുക. ക്ഷേത്രത്തെയും (ശരീരത്തെയും) ക്ഷേത്രജ്ഞനെയും (ആത്മാവിനെയും) കുറിച്ചുള്ള ശരിയായ അറിവാണ് എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തിൽ യഥാർത്ഥ ജ്ഞാനം. ഇത് ആത്മാവിനെയും ശരീരത്തെയും വേർതിരിച്ചറിയാനുള്ള കഴിവിനെക്കുറിച്ചാണ് പറയുന്നത്.
This shloka highlights the importance of distinguishing between the soul and the body. It is a path to self-realization.
O Bharata, know Me to be the Knower of the field in all fields. The knowledge of the field and its Knower, in My opinion, is true knowledge.
In this shloka, Krishna tells Arjuna that He is the soul residing in all bodies and the knowledge of both the body and the soul is the true knowledge.
O Arjuna, understand that in all ‘kṣetras’ (fields or bodies), I am the ‘kṣetrajña’ (the knower of the field, the soul). The true knowledge, in my opinion, is the knowledge of both the ‘kṣetra’ (body) and the ‘kṣetrajña’ (the soul). It emphasizes the importance of distinguishing between the body and the soul.
