അർജ്ജുനൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു: അധിയജ്ഞഃ കഥം കോഽത്ര ദേഹേഽസ്മിൻ മധുസൂദന ।

പ്രയാണകാലേ ച കഥം ജ്ഞേയോഽസി നിയതാത്മഭിഃ ॥

Meaning / Summary¶

ഈ ശ്ലോകം ഭഗവാനെക്കുറിച്ചും മരണസമയത്ത് എങ്ങനെ അവനെ സ്മരിക്കാമെന്നും അറിയാനുള്ള ഒരു അന്വേഷണമാണ്. ഇത് ആത്മീയ ജ്ഞാനം നേടുന്നതിനും മോക്ഷം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നതിനും ഉള്ള ഒരു മാർഗ്ഗമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.

അർജ്ജുനൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു: അല്ലയോ മധുസൂദനാ, ഈ ശരീരത്തിൽ അധിയജ്ഞൻ ആരാണ്? അവൻ എങ്ങനെയാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്? കൂടാതെ, മരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് ആത്മനിയന്ത്രണമുള്ളവർക്ക് അങ്ങ് എങ്ങനെ അറിയാൻ കഴിയും?

അർജ്ജുനൻ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനോട് ചോദിക്കുകയാണ്: അല്ലയോ മധുസൂദനാ, ഈ ശരീരത്തിൽ അധിയജ്ഞൻ ആരാണ്, അവൻ എങ്ങനെയാണ് ഇവിടെ കുടികൊള്ളുന്നത്? കൂടാതെ, മരണസമയത്ത് ആത്മനിയന്ത്രണമുള്ള ആളുകൾക്ക് അങ്ങയെ എങ്ങനെ അറിയാൻ കഴിയും? ഭഗവാനെ അറിയാനുള്ള വഴികൾ വിശദമാക്കാമോ എന്ന് അർജ്ജുനൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു.

This verse is an inquiry into the nature of the Supreme Lord and how to remember Him at the time of death. It’s seen as a path to spiritual knowledge and liberation.

Arjuna inquired: O Madhusudana, who is this Adhiyajna, and how does He dwell in this body? And how, at the time of death, are You known by the self-controlled?

In this verse, Arjuna asks Krishna who the Adhiyajna is, how He resides in the body, and how the self-controlled can know Him at the time of death.

Arjuna asks Krishna: O Madhusudana, who is the Adhiyajna in this body, and how does He reside here? Furthermore, how can those who are self-controlled know You at the time of death? Arjuna is essentially asking for clarification on how to recognize and remember the divine at the crucial moment of passing.

O Madhusudana, who is this Adhiyajna, and how does He dwell in this body?

अधियज्ञः	അധിയജ്ഞഃ		adhiyajñaḥ
അധിയജ്ഞൻ എല്ലാ യാഗങ്ങളുടെയും അധിപൻ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഭഗവാൻ വിഷ്ണു		Adhiyajna The Lord of sacrifice; refers to Vishnu or the Supreme Lord who is the ultimate object of all sacrifices.
