ज्ञानं तेऽहं सविज्ञानमिदं वक्ष्याम्यशेषतः ।

यज्ज्ञात्वा नेह भूयोऽन्यज्ज्ञातव्यमवशिष्यते ॥

ജ്ഞാനം തേഽഹം സവിജ്ഞാനമിദം വക്ഷ്യാമ്യശേഷതഃ।

യജ്ജ്ഞാത്വാ നേഹ ഭൂയോഽന്യജ്ജ്ഞാതവ്യമവശിഷ്യതേ ॥

Meaning / Summary

ഈ ശ്ലോകം ആത്മീയ ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം എടുത്തു കാണിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ജ്ഞാനം നേടുന്നതിലൂടെ എല്ലാത്തിനെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായ അറിവ് നേടാനാകും.

ഞാന്‍ നിനക്ക് ഈ ജ്ഞാനം അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ അനുഭവജ്ഞാനത്തോടും കൂടി പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി വിവരിച്ചുതരാം. ഇത് അറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ പിന്നെ ഈ ലോകത്തില്‍ അറിയാന്‍ മറ്റൊന്നുമില്ല.

ഈ ശ്ലോകത്തില്‍ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന്‍ അര്‍ജ്ജുനനോട് ആത്മീയ ജ്ഞാനം അനുഭവജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ വിശദീകരിക്കാമെന്നും അത് നേടിയാല്‍ മറ്റൊന്നും അറിയാനില്ലെന്നും പറയുന്നു.

ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന്‍ അര്‍ജ്ജുനനോട് പറയുന്നു: ഞാന്‍ നിനക്ക് ആത്മീയ ജ്ഞാനം, അഥവാ ആത്മാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അറിവ്, അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ അനുഭവപരമായ വശങ്ങളോടും കൂടി പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി വിശദീകരിച്ചു തരാം. ഈ ജ്ഞാനം ലഭിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍, ഈ ലോകത്തില്‍ നിനക്ക് കൂടുതലായി അറിയാന്‍ ഒന്നുമില്ല. കാരണം, ഈ ജ്ഞാനം എല്ലാറ്റിന്റെയും പരമമായ സത്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അറിവാണ്.

This shloka highlights the importance of spiritual knowledge. By attaining this knowledge, one can achieve complete understanding of everything.

I shall explain to you fully this knowledge together with realization, after knowing which nothing more remains to be known in this world.

In this shloka, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that he will explain spiritual knowledge with experiential realization, and once it is attained, there is nothing else to know.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna: I shall explain to you this knowledge, which is the knowledge of the self or the soul, completely, along with all its experiential aspects. Once you acquire this knowledge, there is nothing more that remains to be known in this world, because this knowledge is the ultimate truth of everything.

ഞാന്‍ നിനക്ക് അനുഭവജ്ഞാനത്തോടുകൂടിയ ഈ ജ്ഞാനം പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി വിവരിച്ചുതരാം.

I shall explain to you this knowledge together with realization, completely.

Meaning of Words

ज्ञानं		ജ്ഞാനം		jñānaṁ
ആത്മീയമായ അറിവ്, തത്വങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ബോധം.			spiritual knowledge, awareness of principles.
ते		തേ		te
അർജ്ജുനനായ നിനക്ക്.			to you, Arjuna.
अहं		അഹം		‘haṁ
ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനായ ഞാന്‍.			I, Lord Krishna.
सविज्ञानं		സവിജ്ഞാനം		sa-vijñānam
അനുഭവജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ പ്രയോഗത്തിലൂടെയും അനുഭവത്തിലൂടെയുമുള്ള അറിവ്.			with realization knowledge gained through experience and practice.
इदं		ഇദം		idaṁ
ഇത് ഈ ജ്ഞാനം.			this knowledge.
वक्ष्यामि		വക്ഷ്യാമി		vakṣhyāmi
പറയാം വിവരിക്കാം.			shall explain I will explain.
अशेषतः		അശേഷതഃ		aśheṣhataḥ
പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി ഒട്ടും കുറവില്ലാതെ.			completely without any omission.

Meaning

ഇതറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ ഈ ലോകത്തില്‍ കൂടുതലായി അറിയാന്‍ മറ്റൊന്നുമവശേഷിക്കില്ല.

After knowing this, nothing more remains to be known in this world.

Meaning of Words

यज्ज्ञात्वा		യജ്ജ്ഞാത്വാ		yat jñātvā
ഏതറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ ഏത് അറിവ് നേടിയാല്‍.			knowing which after gaining which knowledge.
नेह		നേഹ		neha
ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല ഈ ലോകത്തില്‍ ഇല്ല.			not here not in this world.
भूयो		ഭൂയോ		bhūyo
വീണ്ടും ഇനിയും.			again anymore.
अन्यत्		അന്യത്		‘nyat
മറ്റൊന്ന് വേറൊരു കാര്യം.			anything else another thing.
ज्ञातव्यम्		ജ്ഞാതവ്യം		jñātavyam
അറിയേണ്ടതായി അറിയാനായിട്ടുള്ളത്.			that which is to be known.
अवशिष्यते		അവശിഷ്യതേ		avaśhiṣhyate
അവശേഷിക്കുന്നു ബാക്കിയുണ്ടാകുന്നില്ല.			remains left.
