तदेकं वद निश्चित्य येन श्रेयोऽहमाप्नुयाम् ॥

തദേകം വദ നിശ്ചിത്യ യേന ശ്രേയോഽഹമാപ്നുയാമ് ॥

ഈ ശ്ലോകം ഭഗവദ്ഗീതയിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ഭാഗമാണ്. കാരണം ഇത് അർജ്ജുനൻ്റെ സംശയങ്ങളെയും ആത്മീയമായ വളർച്ചയ്ക്കുള്ള അവന്റെ ആഗ്രഹത്തെയും എടുത്തു കാണിക്കുന്നു. ഇത് ഒരു വ്യക്തിക്ക് ശരിയായ മാർഗ്ഗം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതിൻ്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം മനസിലാക്കാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.

അങ്ങ് മിശ്രമായ വാക്കുകളാൽ എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയെ മോഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ തോന്നുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ ശ്രേയസ്സ് നേടുമെന്ന് ഉറപ്പിച്ച് ഒരുകാര്യം പറയുക.

അർജ്ജുനൻ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനോട് തൻ്റെ ആശയക്കുഴപ്പം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുകയും മോക്ഷം നേടാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വഴി നിർദ്ദേശിക്കാൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

അർജ്ജുനൻ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനോട് പറയുകയാണ്: അങ്ങ് കർമ്മയോഗത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും ജ്ഞാനയോഗത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും മാറിമാറി സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു. ഇത് കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ എനിക്ക് ആശയക്കുഴപ്പമുണ്ടാകുന്നു. അതിനാൽ, എന്റെ നന്മയ്ക്കായി അഥവാ മോക്ഷപ്രാപ്തിക്കായി ഞാൻ എന്താണ് ചെയ്യേണ്ടതെന്ന് കൃത്യമായി ഒരുകാര്യം പറഞ്ഞുതന്നാലും.

With seemingly conflicting words, You confuse my intellect. Therefore, tell me decisively that one thing by which I may attain the highest good.

Arjuna expresses his confusion to Krishna and asks him to recommend one definite path that will lead to his ultimate welfare.

Arjuna tells Krishna that Krishna’s statements about Karma Yoga and Jnana Yoga appear contradictory and are confusing him. Therefore, Arjuna asks Krishna to clearly and decisively tell him the one path that will lead him to his ultimate welfare or liberation (Moksha).

അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ ശ്രേയസ്സ് നേടുമെന്ന് ഉറപ്പിച്ച് ഒരുകാര്യം പറയുക.
