श्रीभगवानुवाच ।

इदं शरीरं कौन्तेय क्षेत्रमित्यभिधीयते ।

एतद्यो वेत्ति तं प्राहुः क्षेत्रज्ञ इति तद्विदः ॥

ಶ್ರೀ ಭಗವಾನುವಾಚ ।

ಇದಂ ಶರೀರಂ ಕೌಂತೇಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಮಿತ್ಯಭಿಧೀಯತೇ ।

ಏತದ್ಯೋ ವೇತ್ತಿ ತಂ ಪ್ರಾಹುಃ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞ ಇತಿ ತದ್ವಿದಃ ॥

Meaning / Summary

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ದೇಹ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮದ ನಡುವಿನ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವೆಂದರೆ ದೇಹ, ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞನೆಂದರೆ ಆತ್ಮ. ಆತ್ಮವು ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಅರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ಎಲೈ ಕೌಂತೇಯ, ಈ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಯಾರು ಇದನ್ನು ಅರಿತಿರುವರೋ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞನೆಂದು ತತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ, ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವೆಂದು ಮತ್ತು ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಅರಿತವನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞನೆಂದು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ಓ ಕೌಂತೇಯ (ಕುಂತಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಅರ್ಜುನ), ಈ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ಯಾರು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೋ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞ ಎಂದು ತತ್ವಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂದರೆ, ದೇಹವೆಂಬ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅರಿತವನೇ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞ.

This verse distinguishes between the body and the soul. The body is the field, and the soul is the knower of the field. The soul knows and controls the body.

The Supreme Lord said: This body, O son of Kunti, is called the field, and one who knows this body is called the knower of the field by those who know.

In this verse, Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna that the body is the field and the one who knows the body is the knower of the field.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna: O son of Kunti (Arjuna), this body is called the ‘field’. And one who knows this field is called the ‘knower of the field’ by those who are conversant with the truth. It implies that the one who understands the body as a field is the ‘knower of the field’.

And one who knows this body is called the knower of the field by those who know.
