Meaning / Summary¶
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣತೆಯಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ‘ಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷ’ ಎಂದು ಸಂಬೋಧಿಸುವುದು ಅವನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶುದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಕಮಲದ ಎಸಳಿನಂತಹ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಅರ್ಜುನ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಉತ್ಪತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿನಾಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಾನು ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಅವಿನಾಶಿ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನನ್ನು ಕಮಲದ ಎಸಳಿನಂತಹ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳವನು ಎಂದು ಸಂಬೋಧಿಸಿ, ಅವನಿಂದ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಹುಟ್ಟು, ವಿನಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಅವಿನಾಶಿ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
ಓ ಕಮಲದ ಎಸಳಿನಂತಹ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಅರ್ಜುನ, ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ವಿನಾಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಶವಿಲ್ಲದ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನನ್ನು ‘ಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷ’ ಎಂದು ಸಂಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಇದು ಕಮಲದ ಎಸಳಿನಂತಹ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳವನು ಎಂದು ಅರ್ಥೈಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಮಲವು ಶುದ್ಧತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಸಂಕೇತ. ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಅವನು ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ವಿನಾಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಅವಿನಾಶಿಯಾದ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಈ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ದೈವಿಕ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

O Arjuna, with eyes like lotus petals, I have heard in detail from you about the origin and destruction of beings, as well as your imperishable glory.

O Arjuna, whose eyes are like the petals of a lotus, I have heard from you in detail about the origin and destruction of all beings, and also about your inexhaustible glories. Here, Krishna addresses Arjuna as ‘Kamalapatraksha,’ which means ‘one with eyes like the petals of a lotus.’ The lotus is a symbol of purity and beauty. Krishna says that he has learned in detail about the creation and destruction of beings, and also about the imperishable glory of Arjuna. This knowledge highlights Krishna’s divine nature.
