अप्राप्य मां निवर्तन्ते मृत्युसंसारवर्त्मनि ॥

ಅಶ್ರದ್ದಧಾನಾಃ ಪುರುಷಾ ಧರ್ಮಸ್ಯಾಸ್ಯ ಪರಂತಪ ।

ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಮಾಂ ನಿವರ್ತನ್ತೇ ಮೃತ್ಯುಸಂಸಾರವರ್ತ್ಮನಿ ॥

Meaning / Summary

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಇದು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯ.

ಎಲೈ ಪರಂತಪ ಅರ್ಜುನ, ಈ ಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯದೆ ಮೃತ್ಯುರೂಪದ ಸಂಸಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಯಾರು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಈ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೇರದೆ ಮೃತ್ಯುಸಂಸಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ಎಲೈ ಪರಂತಪ (ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ತಪಿಸುವವನೇ) ಅರ್ಜುನ, ಯಾರು ಈ ಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ (ಭಕ್ತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ) ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರೋ, ಅಂತಹವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಲುಪಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದೆ, ಮೃತ್ಯು ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮಗಳ ಚಕ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ಸಂಸಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.

This verse emphasizes the importance of devotion. It demonstrates that spiritual progress is not possible without faith and belief. To attain liberation, it is important to walk the path of devotion with faith.

O Arjuna, scorcher of enemies, those who are faithless in this Dharma do not attain Me and return to the path of mortal existence.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that those who do not follow this Dharma with devotion, without attaining Him, keep wandering in the cycle of death and rebirth.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna: O Parantapa (scorcher of enemies), those who are without faith in this Dharma (path of devotion) cannot attain Me. They remain trapped in the cycle of birth and death, wandering in the material world. Without faith, spiritual progress is impossible.

ಎಲೈ ಪರಂತಪ, ಈ ಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಜನರು.

Meaning of Words

अश्रद्दधानाः		ಅಶ್ರದ್ದಧಾನಾಃ		aśraddadhānāḥ
ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಯಾವುದೇ ವಿಷಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವವರು, ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರು.			Without faith Those who do not have faith or belief in something; faithless.
पुरुषा		ಪುರುಷಾ		puruṣā
ಜನರು ಮನುಷ್ಯರು, ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು			People Humans, individuals.

Meaning

ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯದೆ, ಮೃತ್ಯುರೂಪದ ಸಂಸಾರದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Without attaining Me, they return to the path of the cycle of death and rebirth.
