श्रीभगवानुवाच ।

अनाश्रितः कर्मफलं कार्यं कर्म करोति यः ।

स संन्यासी च योगी च न निरग्निर्न चाक्रियः ॥

ಶ್ರೀ ಭಗವಾನುವಾಚ ।

ಅನಾಶ್ರಿತಃ ಕರ್ಮಫಲಂ ಕಾರ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ಮ ಕರೋತಿ ಯಃ ।

ಸ ಸನ್ಯಾಸೀ ಚ ಯೋಗೀ ಚ ನ ನಿರಗ್ನಿರ್ನ ಚಾಕ್ರಿಯಃ ॥

Meaning / Summary¶

ಇದು ಕರ್ಮಯೋಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ತತ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಫಲಾಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಹೇಗೆ ಸನ್ಯಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಬಾಹ್ಯ ತ್ಯಾಗಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಆಂತರಿಕ ವೈರಾಗ್ಯ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಸಾರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ಯಾರು ಕರ್ಮದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ, ತನ್ನ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೋ, ಅವನು ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಯೂ ಹೌದು, ಯೋಗಿಯೂ ಹೌದು. ಕೇವಲ ಅಗ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದವನಲ್ಲ, ಅಥವಾ ಕರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡದವನಲ್ಲ.

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ, ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಕರ್ಮದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕರ್ಮ ಫಲದ ಆಸೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವವನೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಭಗವಾನ್ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ಯಾರು ತನ್ನ ಕರ್ಮದ ಫಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಸೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ, ತನ್ನ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೋ, ಅವನು ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಯೂ ಆಗುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗಿಯೂ ಆಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕೇವಲ ಅಗ್ನಿಹೋತ್ರವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದವನು ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕುಳಿತವನು ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಯಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿಜವಾದ ಸನ್ಯಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗವೆಂದರೆ ಕರ್ಮವನ್ನು ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥದಿಂದ ಮಾಡುವುದು.

This highlights the central principle of Karma Yoga. It explains how renunciation and yoga can be achieved by performing actions without attachment. This verse emphasizes that inner detachment is more important than external renunciation.

The Blessed Lord said: He who performs his duty without seeking the fruit of action, he is a renunciate and a yogi, not he who is without fire or without action.

In this shloka, Lord Krishna explains the importance of selfless action. He states that a true renunciate and yogi is one who performs their duties without attachment to the fruits of their actions.

Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna that a true renunciate (Sanyasi) and a true Yogi is one who performs his prescribed duties without attachment to the results of his actions. It’s not merely abstaining from rituals involving fire (like Agnihotra) or abandoning all activity that makes one a renunciate or a Yogi. The essence lies in performing one’s duties selflessly.

ಯಾವನು ಕರ್ಮದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ, ತನ್ನ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೋ.

He who performs his duty without seeking the fruit of action.

कर्मफलम्	ಕರ್ಮಫಲಂ		karmaphalaṁ
ಕರ್ಮದ ಫಲ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೆಲಸದ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಅಥವಾ ಪರಿಣಾಮ.		Fruit of action The result or consequence of action.
कार्यम्	ಕಾರ್ಯಂ		kāryaṁ
ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು, ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು; ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಕೆಲಸ.		Duty, to be done That which ought to be done; prescribed duty.

Meaning¶

ಅವನು ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಯೂ ಹೌದು, ಯೋಗಿಯೂ ಹೌದು. ಕೇವಲ ಅಗ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದವನಲ್ಲ, ಅಥವಾ ಕರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡದವನಲ್ಲ.

He is a renunciate and a yogi, not he who is without fire or without action.

ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವನು, ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡದವನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರುವವನು.		Without action One who performs no action, inactive.
