इमं विवस्वते योगं प्रोक्तवानहमव्ययम् ।

विवस्वान्मनवे प्राह मनुरिक्ष्वाकवेऽब्रवीत् ॥

ಇಮಂ ವಿವಸ್ವತೇ ಯೋಗಂ ಪ್ರೋಕ್ತವಾನಹಮವ್ಯಯಮ್ ।

ವಿವಸ್ವಾನ್ ಮನವೇ ಪ್ರಾಹ ಮನುರಿಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕವೇಽಬ್ರವೀತ್ ॥

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಯೋಗದ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಹೊಸದಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವೆಂದು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ನಾನು ಈ ಅವಿನಾಶಿ ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ವಿವಸ್ವಂತನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. ವಿವಸ್ವಂತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು, ಮನುವು ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕುವಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ನಾನು ಈ ನಾಶವಿಲ್ಲದ ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ವಿವಸ್ವಂತನಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿದೆ; ವಿವಸ್ವಂತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮನುವಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಿದನು; ಮನುವು ಅದನ್ನು ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕುವಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಭಗವಾನ್ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ, ‘ಅರ್ಜುನ, ನಾನು ಮೊದಲು ಈ ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಸೂರ್ಯದೇವನಾದ ವಿವಸ್ವಂತನಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿದೆ. ವಿವಸ್ವಂತನು ಈ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಮನುವಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದನು. ಮನುವು ಇದನ್ನು ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕು ಮಹಾರಾಜನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ, ಈ ಯೋಗವು ಗುರು-ಶಿಷ್ಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಹರಡಿತು’. ಇಲ್ಲಿ, ಯೋಗ ಎಂದರೆ ಕರ್ಮಯೋಗ, ಜ್ಞಾನಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಮನ್ವಯ. ಇದು ಆತ್ಮಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿದೆ.

This verse emphasizes that the knowledge of yoga is not new, but an ancient tradition passed down from the divine to humans. It highlights the authority and lineage of the knowledge.

The Blessed Lord said: I instructed this imperishable yoga to Vivasvan; Vivasvan taught it to Manu; Manu told it to Ikshvaku.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna: I taught this imperishable yoga to Vivasvan; Vivasvan taught it to Manu; Manu told it to Ikshvaku.

Lord Krishna says to Arjuna, ‘Arjuna, I first imparted this yoga to Vivasvan, the sun-god. Vivasvan passed this knowledge on to Manu. Manu then taught it to King Ikshvaku. In this way, this yoga was passed down through a lineage of teachers and disciples.’ Here, yoga refers to the integrated path of Karma Yoga (the yoga of action), Jnana Yoga (the yoga of knowledge), and Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of devotion). It is the path that leads to self-realization.

ಭಗವಾನ್ ಭಗವಂತ, ದೇವರು, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣ.		The Blessed Lord, God Refers to the Supreme Being, here specifically Lord Krishna.
