The Shloka

इदं ज्ञानमुपाश्रित्य मम साधर्म्यमागताः ।

सर्गेऽपि नोपजायन्ते प्रलये न व्यथन्ति च ॥

idaṁ jñānam upāśritya mama sādharmyam āgatāḥ ।

sarge ’pi nopajāyante pralaye na vyathanti cha ॥

Meaning / Summary

यह श्लोक ज्ञान के महत्व को दर्शाता है, जो मनुष्य को भगवान के समान बना सकता है और उसे जन्म-मृत्यु के चक्र से मुक्त कर सकता है।

इस ज्ञान को आश्रय बनाकर, मेरे जैसे स्वभाव को प्राप्त हुए पुरुष सृष्टि में भी उत्पन्न नहीं होते और प्रलय में भी व्याकुल नहीं होते।

जो इस ज्ञान का आश्रय लेते हैं वे भगवान के समान स्वभाव को प्राप्त होते हैं और सृष्टि और प्रलय के चक्र से मुक्त हो जाते हैं।

जो मनुष्य इस ज्ञान का सहारा लेते हैं, वे मेरे समान स्वभाव को प्राप्त हो जाते हैं। ऐसे ज्ञानी पुरुष न तो सृष्टि के आरंभ में जन्म लेते हैं और न ही प्रलय के समय व्याकुल होते हैं। वे जन्म-मृत्यु के चक्र से मुक्त हो जाते हैं और सदैव आनंद में रहते हैं। यहाँ ‘मेरे जैसे स्वभाव’ का अर्थ है, गुणों से परे, निर्गुण ब्रह्म को प्राप्त होना।

This verse highlights the importance of knowledge, which can make a person like God and free them from the cycle of birth and death.

Those who, taking refuge in this knowledge, attain likeness to My nature, are neither born at the time of creation nor distressed at the time of dissolution.

Those who take refuge in this knowledge attain likeness to God’s nature and are liberated from the cycle of creation and dissolution.

Those individuals who take refuge in this knowledge, which leads to the understanding of the Supreme Reality, attain a nature similar to Mine (the Supreme Being). Such enlightened souls are not born again at the beginning of a new creation, nor are they distressed or affected by the cosmic dissolution (pralaya). They are liberated from the cycle of birth and death and remain in eternal bliss.

इस ज्ञान का आश्रय लेकर, मेरे जैसे स्वभाव को प्राप्त हुए।

Taking refuge in this knowledge, they attain likeness to My nature.

सृष्टि में भी उत्पन्न नहीं होते और प्रलय में भी व्याकुल नहीं होते।
