The Shloka

इदं ज्ञानमुपाश्रित्य मम साधर्म्यमागताः ।

सर्गेऽपि नोपजायन्ते प्रलये न व्यथन्ति च ॥

———

ઇદં જ્ઞાનમુપાશ્રિત્ય મમ સાધર્મ્યમાગતાઃ ।

સર્ગેઽપિ નોપજાયન્તે પ્રલયે ન વ્યથન્તિ ચ ॥

idaṁ jñānam upāśritya mama sādharmyam āgatāḥ

sarge ’pi nopajāyante pralaye na vyathanti cha

Meaning / Summary

આ શ્લોક જ્ઞાનની મહિમા અને તેનાથી મળતી મુક્તિનું મહત્વ દર્શાવે છે. જે વ્યક્તિ આત્મજ્ઞાન પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે, તે જન્મ અને મરણના ચક્રમાંથી મુક્ત થઈ જાય છે.

આ જ્ઞાનનો આશ્રય કરીને મારા સ્વભાવને પામેલા પુરુષો સૃષ્ટિમાં જન્મતા નથી અને પ્રલયમાં વ્યથિત થતા નથી.

આ શ્લોકમાં ભગવાન કહે છે કે જે લોકો જ્ઞાન પ્રાપ્ત કરીને તેમના જેવા બની જાય છે, તેઓ સૃષ્ટિના સર્જન સમયે જન્મ લેતા નથી અને પ્રલય સમયે દુઃખી થતા નથી.

જે મનુષ્યો આ જ્ઞાનને શ્રદ્ધાથી ગ્રહણ કરે છે અને મારા સ્વરૂપને પામે છે, તેઓ નવી સૃષ્ટિના આરંભમાં ફરીથી જન્મ લેતા નથી, અને પ્રલયકાળમાં થતી પીડાઓથી પણ તેઓ વિચલિત થતા નથી. તેઓ હંમેશાં મુક્ત રહે છે.

This shloka highlights the glory of knowledge and the importance of liberation through it. A person who attains self-knowledge becomes free from the cycle of birth and death.

Those who, taking refuge in this wisdom, attain to My own nature, are neither born at the time of creation nor distressed at the time of dissolution.

In this shloka, Lord Krishna says that those who attain knowledge and become like Him are neither born at the time of creation nor distressed at the time of dissolution.

People who embrace this knowledge and attain My nature are not born again at the beginning of a new creation, nor are they disturbed by the pains of dissolution. They remain forever free.

આત્મજ્ઞાન, બ્રહ્મજ્ઞાન; સત્યનું જ્ઞાન.			Knowledge Self-knowledge, knowledge of Brahman; the knowledge of truth.
उपाश्रित्य		ઉપાશ્રિત્ય		upāśritya
આશ્રય લઈને સહારો લઈને, શરણમાં જઈને, આધાર બનાવીને.			Taking refuge Taking support, going into shelter, making it the basis.

મારું, ભગવાનનું, પરમાત્માનું.			My Belonging to Me, belonging to the Lord, the Supreme Self.
साधर्म्यम्		સાધર્મ્યમ્		sādharmyam
સમાન સ્વભાવ સમાન પ્રકૃતિ, સ્વભાવમાં સમાનતા, મારા જેવું સ્વરૂપ.			Same nature, similarity in temperament, form like Mine.
आगताः		આગતાઃ		āgatāḥ
પામેલા મેળવેલું, પ્રાપ્ત કરેલું, પહોંચેલા.			Attained Obtained, acquired, reached.

સૃષ્ટિમાં પણ જન્મતા નથી

प्रलये न व्यथन्ति च ।

Meaning

અને પ્રલયમાં વ્યથિત થતા નથી.

Nor are distressed at the time of dissolution.
