આ શ્લોક ભગવદ્ ગીતાના આઠમા અધ્યાયની શરૂઆત છે, જેમાં અર્જુન ભગવાન કૃષ્ણને કેટલાક મહત્વપૂર્ણ આધ્યાત્મિક પ્રશ્નો પૂછે છે. આ પ્રશ્નોના જવાબો ગીતાના આગળના શ્લોકોમાં આપવામાં આવ્યા છે, જે જ્ઞાન અને મુક્તિના માર્ગને સમજવામાં મદદ કરે છે.

અર્જુને પૂછ્યું: હે પુરુષોત્તમ, તે બ્રહ્મ શું છે? અધ્યાત્મ શું છે? કર્મ શું છે? અધિભૂત શું કહેવાય છે? અને અધિદેવ કોને કહેવાય છે?

અર્જુન ભગવાન કૃષ્ણને બ્રહ્મ, અધ્યાત્મ, કર્મ, અધિભૂત અને અધિદેવ વિશે પૂછે છે.

અર્જુન ભગવાન શ્રી કૃષ્ણને પ્રશ્નો પૂછી રહ્યા છે. તે પૂછે છે કે ‘બ્રહ્મ’ શું છે, એટલે કે અંતિમ સત્ય શું છે? ‘અધ્યાત્મ’ શું છે, એટલે કે આત્માનું જ્ઞાન શું છે? ‘કર્મ’ શું છે, એટલે કે કયા કાર્યો બંધનકર્તા છે અને કયા મુક્તિ આપનારા છે? ‘અધિભૂત’ શું છે, એટલે કે ભૌતિક જગતનું સત્ય શું છે? અને ‘અધિદેવ’ કોને કહેવાય છે, એટલે કે દેવતાઓનું મૂળ શું છે?

This verse marks the beginning of the eighth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, where Arjuna poses some crucial spiritual questions to Lord Krishna. The answers to these questions are provided in the subsequent verses of the Gita, which help in understanding the path to knowledge and liberation.

Arjuna asked: O Supreme Person, what is Brahman? What is the Self? What is action? What is said to be the material manifestation? And what is called the demigods?

Arjuna asks Lord Krishna about Brahman, Adhyatma, Karma, Adhibhuta, and Adhidaiva.

Arjuna is posing questions to Lord Krishna. He asks, “What is ‘Brahman,’ meaning what is the ultimate truth? What is ‘Adhyatma,’ meaning what is the knowledge of the self? What is ‘Karma,’ meaning which actions are binding and which are liberating? What is ‘Adhibhuta,’ meaning what is the truth of the material world? And who is called ‘Adhidaiva,’ meaning what is the origin of the demigods?”
