स एवायं मया तेऽद्य योगः प्रोक्तः पुरातनः ।

भक्तोऽसि मे सखा चेति रहस्यं ह्येतदुत्तमम् ॥

સ એવાઽયં મયા તેઽદ્ય યોગઃ પ્રોક્તઃ પુરાતનઃ ।

ભક્તોઽસિ મે સખા ચેતિ રહસ્યં હ્યેતદુત્તમમ્ ॥

sa evāyaṁ mayā te’dya yogaḥ proktaḥ purātanaḥ।

bhakto’si me sakhā cheti rahasyaṁ hyetaduttamam ॥

Meaning / Summary

આ શ્લોક ભક્તિ અને મિત્રતાના મહત્વ પર ભાર મૂકે છે, અને સૂચવે છે કે દૈવી જ્ઞાન યોગ્ય વ્યક્તિને જ આપવામાં આવે છે.

એ જ આ પુરાતન યોગ આજે મેં તને કહ્યો, કારણ કે તું મારો ભક્ત અને મિત્ર છે; આ ઉત્તમ રહસ્ય છે.

શ્રીકૃષ્ણ અર્જુનને કહે છે કે તેમણે જે યોગ પહેલાં કહ્યો હતો તે જ આજે ફરીથી કહે છે, કારણ કે અર્જુન તેમનો ભક્ત અને મિત્ર છે અને આ એક મોટું રહસ્ય છે.

ભગવાન શ્રીકૃષ્ણ અર્જુનને કહે છે કે જે યોગનું જ્ઞાન મેં પહેલાં સૂર્યદેવને આપ્યું હતું, તે જ પુરાતન યોગનું જ્ઞાન આજે હું તને આપી રહ્યો છું. આનું કારણ એ છે કે તું મારો ભક્ત અને મિત્ર છે. આ જ્ઞાન ગુપ્ત અને ઉત્તમ છે, અને તે માત્ર યોગ્ય અધિકારીને જ આપવામાં આવે છે.

This verse emphasizes the importance of devotion and friendship, and suggests that divine knowledge is only given to the worthy.

That same ancient Yoga I have today declared unto thee, because thou art my devotee and friend; this is the supreme secret.

Krishna tells Arjuna that He is imparting the same ancient Yoga to him because Arjuna is His devotee and friend, and this is a great secret.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that the same ancient knowledge of Yoga, which He had earlier imparted to the Sun God, is now being imparted to Arjuna. The reason for this is that Arjuna is both a devotee and a friend of Krishna. This knowledge is secret and supreme, and it is only given to the right recipient.

એ જ આ યોગ આજે મેં તને કહ્યો, જે પુરાતન છે.

That same Yoga I have today declared unto thee, which is ancient.
