सञ्जय उवाच।
तं तथा कृपयाविष्टमश्रुपूर्णाकुलेक्षणम् ।
विषीदन्तमिदं वाक्यमुवाच मधुसूदनः ॥

તં તથા કૃપયાઽઽવિષ્ટમ્ અશ્રુપૂર્ણઽઽકુલેક્ષણમ્ ।
વિષીદન્તમ ઇદં વાક્યમ્ ઉવાચ મધુસૂદનઃ ॥

Meaning / Summary¶
આ શ્લોક અર્જુનની માનસિક સ્થિતિ અને ભગવાન કૃષ્ણના ઉપદેશની શરૂઆતનું વર્ણન કરે છે, જે ભગવદ ગીતાનો આધાર છે.
સંજયે કહ્યું: અર્જુનને આ રીતે કરુણાથી ભરેલો, આંસુઓથી પૂર્ણ અને વ્યાકુળ આંખોવાળો જોઈને મધુસૂદન (શ્રી કૃષ્ણ) એ આ વાક્યો કહ્યા.
સંજયે ધૃતરાષ્ટ્રને કહ્યું કે અર્જુનની કરુણાપૂર્ણ, આંસુ ભરેલી અને દુઃખી સ્થિતિ જોઈને શ્રી કૃષ્ણે તેને વાક્યો કહ્યા.
સંજય રાજા ધૃતરાષ્ટ્રને યુદ્ધના મેદાન પર થયેલી ઘટનાઓનું વર્ણન કરે છે. તે કહે છે કે અર્જુન કરુણાથી ભરાઈ ગયો હતો, તેની આંખો આંસુઓથી ભરેલી હતી અને તે ખૂબ જ દુઃખી દેખાતો હતો. અર્જુનની આવી સ્થિતિ જોઈને મધુસૂદન એટલે કે ભગવાન શ્રી કૃષ્ણે તેને ઉપદેશ આપવાનું શરૂ કર્યું.
This verse describes Arjuna’s mental state and the beginning of Lord Krishna’s teachings, which are the foundation of the Bhagavad Gita.
Sanjaya said: Seeing Arjuna thus filled with compassion, his eyes overflowing with tears, and overwhelmed with sorrow, Madhusudana (Krishna) spoke the following words.
Sanjaya told Dhritarashtra that seeing Arjuna’s compassionate, tearful, and sorrowful state, Krishna spoke the following words.
Sanjaya is narrating the events on the battlefield to King Dhritarashtra. He describes Arjuna as being overcome with compassion, his eyes filled with tears, and deeply sorrowful. Witnessing Arjuna’s state, Madhusudana, which is Lord Krishna, began to instruct him.
