6.2.2. Emacs - Basics

If you are not using the GUI of the Emacs, it may sound absurd that there needs to be a section itself to inform a new user about how to open or close a file. But sorry, Control o, Control s are not the shortcuts in Emacs.

6.2.2.1. Opening a new File

Press Control x Control f to open a new file.

6.2.2.2. Saving a new File

Press Control x Control s to save the current open file.
